- Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
- Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the Lord your God gives you for all time.
- Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
- For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
- Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
- How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word. - If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.
- The prudent see danger and take refuge,
but the simple keep going and pay the penalty. - If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.
- We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
- Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
- Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord;
may your love and faithfulness always protect me. - And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
- Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.
- Sin is not ended by multiplying words,
but the prudent hold their tongues. - In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety. - Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
- I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.
- Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.
- But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die.
- If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.
- So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.
- It is to one’s honor to avoid strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel. - I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
- Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Direct my footsteps according to your word;
let no sin rule over me.May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us.
