- For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.
- Out of the depths I have cried to You, Lord.
Lord, hear my voice!
Let Your ears be attentive
To the sound of my pleadings. - Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.
- But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God.
- The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom should I fear?
The Lord is the defense of my life;
Whom should I dread? - This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
- With all my heart I have sought You;
Do not let me wander from Your commandments. - Be exalted above the heavens, God;
May Your glory be above all the earth. - But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your charitable giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
- Establish my footsteps in Your word,
And do not let any wrongdoing have power over me. - For so the Lord has commanded us,
‘I have appointed You as a light to the Gentiles,
That You may bring salvation to the end of the earth.’ - For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.
- Be exalted above the heavens, God,
And may Your glory be above all the earth. - In You, Lord, I have taken refuge;
Let me never be put to shame;
In Your righteousness rescue me. - Now no one lights a lamp and covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand so that those who come in may see the light.
- Do not be mismatched with unbelievers; for what do righteousness and lawlessness share together, or what does light have in common with darkness?
- Let the peace of Christ, to which you were indeed called in one body, rule in your hearts; and be thankful.
- Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity.
- Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
- Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
- But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
- Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.
- Let me hear Your faithfulness in the morning,
For I trust in You;
Teach me the way in which I should walk;
For to You I lift up my soul. - Come, let’s worship and bow down,
Let’s kneel before the Lord our Maker. - Do not let kindness and truth leave you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and a good reputation
In the sight of God and man.
