- The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
- Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. - Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
- Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
- Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever. - Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life,
but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die. - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
- By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life. - Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
- And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
- Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
- Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
- You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand. - This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
- But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it. - The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid? - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
- Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
- In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
- No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.
- You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
- I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
- While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
- But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.
