- “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. - But You, O Lord, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head. - And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
- I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye. - Teach me Your way, O Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name. - For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.
- For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
- But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
- Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit. - Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.
- Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.
- And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
- For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
- Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
- I delight to do Your will, O my God,
And Your law is within my heart. - A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones. - Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
- May He grant you according to your heart’s desire,
And fulfill all your purpose. - So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
- If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
- Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
- And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
- Salvation belongs to the Lord.
Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah - O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off. - Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
But to Your name give glory,
Because of Your mercy,
Because of Your truth.
