| And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine. | You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own. |
| Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. | “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” |

| But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. | But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. |
| O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. | Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago. |
| There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. | There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God. |
| For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. | Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. |
| Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. | Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. |

| And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you. | May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. |
| A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. | A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. |
| And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. | Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. | For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. | I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. |
| Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. | Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. |
| Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. | Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. |
| In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. | In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears. |
| And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. | I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy through you before their eyes. |
| And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. | The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. |
| A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. | I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. |
| According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. | His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. |
| For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us. | For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us. |
| And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house. | You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. |
| For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. | I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint. |
| Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. | Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” |
| That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. | So that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed. |
