- Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
- You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.
- Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
- Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

For the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
- He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.
- John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.”
- Therefore say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: None of my words will be delayed any longer; whatever I say will be fulfilled, declares the Sovereign Lord.’

what no ear has heard,

the things God has prepared for those who love him. - No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
- Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
