- Yahweh makes poor and makes rich.
He brings low, he also lifts up. - Yahweh, the Lord, is my strength.
He makes my feet like deer’s feet,
and enables me to go in high places. - Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life. - If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
- Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down,
but a kind word makes it glad. - A wise son makes a glad father;
but a foolish son brings grief to his mother. - A man’s gift makes room for him,
and brings him before great men. - Yahweh is my shepherd;
I shall lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters. - Yahweh’s blessing brings wealth,
and he adds no trouble to it. - Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away,
but he who gathers by hand makes it grow. - That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness.
A poor man is better than a liar. - You adulterers and adulteresses, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- A cheerful heart makes good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God.
- A man’s steps are established by Yahweh.
He delights in his way. - He who hides hatred has lying lips.
He who utters a slander is a fool. - In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.
- Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him.
Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way,
because of the man who makes wicked plots happen. - As you don’t know what is the way of the wind,
nor how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child;
even so you don’t know the work of God who does all. - Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all wrongs. - For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
- A man’s heart plans his course,
but Yahweh directs his steps. - Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin is a disgrace to any people. - Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
- He who walks blamelessly walks surely,
but he who perverts his ways will be found out.
He who guards his mouth guards his soul.
One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death.
