- The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich:
he bringeth low, and lifteth up. - Hope deferred maketh the heart sick:
but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. - The Lord God is my strength,
and he will make my feet like hinds' feet,
and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. - Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop:
but a good word maketh it glad. - The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich,
and he addeth no sorrow with it. - A wise son maketh a glad father:
but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. - A man's gift maketh room for him,
and bringeth him before great men. - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters. - If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
- Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
- The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord:
and he delighteth in his way. - He that hideth hatred with lying lips,
and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. - As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.
- The desire of a man is his kindness:
and a poor man is better than a liar. - Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished:
but he that gathereth by labour shall increase. - And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
- God setteth the solitary in families:
he bringeth out those which are bound with chains:
but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. - Hatred stirreth up strifes:
but love covereth all sins. - For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
- A man's heart deviseth his way:
but the Lord directeth his steps. - Righteousness exalteth a nation:
but sin is a reproach to any people. - A merry heart doeth good like a medicine:
but a broken spirit drieth the bones. - Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
- Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation:
and thy right hand hath holden me up,
and thy gentleness hath made me great.
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me,
that my feet did not slip. - Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
He that walketh uprightly walketh surely:
but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. As for God, his way is perfect:
the word of the Lord is tried:
he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. When thou passest through the waters,
I will be with thee;
and through the rivers,
they shall not overflow thee:
when thou walkest through the fire,
thou shalt not be burned;
neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.Next verse! With image
