- The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
he brings low and he exalts. - God, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the deer's;
he makes me tread on my high places. - Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. - The blessing of the Lord makes rich,
and he adds no sorrow with it. - Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down,
but a good word makes him glad. - A wise son makes a glad father,
but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother. - A man's gift makes room for him
and brings him before the great. - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters. - You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
- As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
- Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
- Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out. - The steps of a man are established by the Lord,
when he delights in his way. - The one who conceals hatred has lying lips,
and whoever utters slander is a fool. - What is desired in a man is steadfast love,
and a poor man is better than a liar. - Wealth gained hastily will dwindle,
but whoever gathers little by little will increase it. - Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
- God settles the solitary in a home;
he leads out the prisoners to prosperity,
but the rebellious dwell in a parched land. - And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
- Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all offenses. - For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
- The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps. - Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin is a reproach to any people. - A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
You have given me the shield of your salvation,
and your right hand supported me,
and your gentleness made me great.
You gave a wide place for my steps under me,
and my feet did not slip.This God—his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”Next verse!With image
