Bible Verses about 'Makes'
- The Lord makes poor and makes rich,
he humbles and he also exalts. - The Lord God is my strength;
he makes my feet as swift as those of a deer
and enables me to tread on the heights. - Anxiety in the human heart weighs it down,
but a kind word makes it glad. - Hope deferred sickens the heart,
but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. - The Lord is my shepherd;
there is nothing I shall lack.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me to tranquil streams. - The blessing of the Lord is what brings wealth,
and our toil adds nothing to it. - A wise son brings joy to his father,
but a foolish son gives grief to his mother. - The Lord makes a man’s steps secure
when he approves of his conduct. - A gift opens doors for the giver
and wins him access to the powerful. - Adulterers! Do you not know that love of the world results in enmity with God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a lover of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- Therefore, if the Son sets you free,
you then will truly be free. - A man may plan his own course,
but the Lord makes his steps secure. - He who guards his mouth makes his life secure,
but one who talks excessively ensures his own downfall. - For all of us fall short in many ways. Anyone who never makes a mistake in speech has reached perfection and is able to control every part of his body.
- Lying lips conceal hatred,
and anyone who slanders another is a fool. - We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose.
- Just as you do not know the path of the wind
or how the body is formed in a woman’s womb,
so you do not know the work of God,
the Creator of all. - You have given me the shield of your salvation;
your right hand sustains me,
and your goodness makes me great.
You broadened the path beneath me
so that my feet have never stumbled. - A man’s attraction is his kindness;
it is far better to be poor than to be a liar. - Wealth hastily acquired will dwindle away,
but when amassed little by little, it will increase. - Woe to anyone who rises up against his Maker,
or to the pot that is displeased with the potter.

“What are you doing?
Your work makes no sense.” - The Lord is slow to anger but great in power,
and he will never allow the guilty
to escape punishment.

and the clouds are the dust beneath his feet. - He gives a home to those who are forsaken
and leads out prisoners amid chants of exultation,
while rebels are forced to live in an arid land. - And the one who searches hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
- Hatred stirs up strife,
but love overlooks all offenses. - Righteousness is a sign of a nation’s greatness,
but sin degrades any people. - A cheerful heart is excellent medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - Everyone who sins breaks the law,
for sin is lawlessness. - In the same way, even the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs that cannot be put into words.
- Anyone who leads an honorable life walks in safety,
but whoever pursues wicked ways will be found out. - When you fix your gaze upon it,
it is gone before you realize it.
For it suddenly sprouts wings
and flies up to the sky like an eagle. - Wait quietly for the Lord
and be patient until he comes.
Do not fret over the man who prospers
because of his evil schemes. - For you did not receive a spirit of slavery leading to fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, “Abba! Father!”
- Everyone who sins comes from the devil,
for the devil has been a sinner
from the very beginning.
The Son of God appeared for this very purpose:
to destroy the work of the devil. - In it the righteousness of God is revealed, beginning in faith and established in faith. As it is written: “The one who is righteous will live through faith.”
- And as we gaze upon the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, all of us are being transformed into that same image from glory to glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
- For all have sinned and thereby are deprived of the glory of God, and all are justified by the gift of his grace that is given freely through the redemption in Christ Jesus.
