- The Lord makes poor and makes rich,
he humbles and he also exalts. - The Lord God is my strength;
he makes my feet as swift as those of a deer
and enables me to tread on the heights. - Anxiety in the human heart weighs it down,
but a kind word makes it glad. - Hope deferred sickens the heart,
but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. - The Lord is my shepherd;
there is nothing I shall lack.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me to tranquil streams. - The Lord makes a man’s steps secure
when he approves of his conduct. - The blessing of the Lord is what brings wealth,
and our toil adds nothing to it. - A wise son brings joy to his father,
but a foolish son gives grief to his mother. - Therefore, if the Son sets you free,
you then will truly be free. - A man may plan his own course,
but the Lord makes his steps secure. - Adulterers! Do you not know that love of the world results in enmity with God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a lover of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- A gift opens doors for the giver
and wins him access to the powerful. - He who guards his mouth makes his life secure,
but one who talks excessively ensures his own downfall. - For all of us fall short in many ways. Anyone who never makes a mistake in speech has reached perfection and is able to control every part of his body.
- Lying lips conceal hatred,
and anyone who slanders another is a fool. - We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose.
- A man’s attraction is his kindness;
it is far better to be poor than to be a liar. - Wealth hastily acquired will dwindle away,
but when amassed little by little, it will increase. - Just as you do not know the path of the wind
or how the body is formed in a woman’s womb,
so you do not know the work of God,
the Creator of all. - Woe to anyone who rises up against his Maker,
or to the pot that is displeased with the potter.
Does the clay say to the one who molds it,
“What are you doing?
Your work makes no sense.” - You have given me the shield of your salvation;
your right hand sustains me,
and your goodness makes me great.
You broadened the path beneath me
so that my feet have never stumbled. - And the one who searches hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
- Hatred stirs up strife,
but love overlooks all offenses. - Righteousness is a sign of a nation’s greatness,
but sin degrades any people. - A cheerful heart is excellent medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Everyone who sins breaks the law,
for sin is lawlessness.Anyone who leads an honorable life walks in safety,
but whoever pursues wicked ways will be found out. As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.Next verse!With image
