- What is desired in a man is steadfast love,
and a poor man is better than a liar. - Hear, my son, and accept my words,
that the years of your life may be many. - For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.
- For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
- For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
- Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord delivers him out of them all. - For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
- For the Lord your God will bless you, as he promised you, and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow, and you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.
- When words are many, transgression is not lacking,
but whoever restrains his lips is prudent. - Iron sharpens iron,
and one man sharpens another. - For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
- I, I am he who comforts you;
who are you that you are afraid of man who dies,
of the son of man who is made like grass. - In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
- As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything.
- For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?
- But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
- And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
- The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in man. - And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
- A man's gift makes room for him
and brings him before the great. - The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps. - For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
- The fear of man lays a snare,
but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. - So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.
