Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. | Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee. | For the Lord your God will have blessed you just as He has promised you, and you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow; and you will rule over many nations, but they will not rule over you. |
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? | Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? |
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. | Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer person is decaying, yet our inner person is being renewed day by day. |
A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous. | Better is the little of the righteous Than the abundance of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked will be broken, But the Lord sustains the righteous. |
Who will render to every man according to his deeds. | Who will repay each person according to his deeds. |
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. | No one is to say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. |
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. | One person values one day over another, another values every day the same. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. |
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. | But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. |
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. | If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him. |
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. | Take care that no one deceives himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. |
