The ransom of a person’s life is his wealth, But the poor hears no rebuke.A person’s riches may ransom their life, but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.
Blessed is a person who finds wisdom, And one who obtains understanding.Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding.
A perverse person spreads strife, And a slanderer separates close friends.A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.
For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul?What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
No one is to deceive you in any way! For it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
A fool always loses his temper, But a wise person holds it back.Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.
But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.”Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
There is a way which seems right to a person, But its end is the way of death.There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.
Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out with his hand, and take fruit also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out of the Garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.
Before destruction the heart of a person is haughty, But humility goes before honor.Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.

A person has joy in an apt answer, And how delightful is a timely word!A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word!
Praise the Lord! Blessed is a person who fears the Lord, Who greatly delights in His commandments.Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands.
The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, And he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him.
“And they will be Mine,” says the Lord of armies, “on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will have compassion for them just as a man has compassion for his own son who serves him.”“On the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty, “they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him.”
How much more valuable then is a person than a sheep! So then, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
For who among people knows the thoughts of a person except the spirit of the person that is in him? So also the thoughts of God no one knows, except the Spirit of God.For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work.All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
For the despairing man there should be kindness from his friend; So that he does not abandon the fear of the Almighty.Anyone who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord Than to trust in people.It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans.
Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.
The mind of a person plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
A fool’s anger is known at once, But a prudent person conceals dishonor.Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.

Behold, happy is the person whom God disciplines, So do not reject the discipline of the Almighty.Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
