The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him. | The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. |

The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. | Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. |
There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. | There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. |
Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. | Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. |

A person’s riches may ransom their life, but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes. | The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, But the poor does not hear rebuke. |
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans. | It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man. |
A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word! | A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is! |
Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. | Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments. |
He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. | He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord. |
For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. | For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. |
How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath. | Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath. |
A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart. | Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts. |
The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. | And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. |
It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel. | It is honorable for a man to stop striving, Since any fool can start a quarrel. |
We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check. | For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. |
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice. | A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion. |
