- I delight to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart. - Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and give ear to my cry;
do not hold your peace at my tears.
For I am your passing guest,
an alien, like all my forebears. - For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation. - For God alone my soul waits in silence,
for my hope is from him. - I will put my spirit within you, and make you follow my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances.
- Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood abide in me, and I in them.
- You shall keep my sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.
- O Lord, all my longing is known to you;
my sighing is not hidden from you. - While I kept silence, my body wasted away
through my groaning all day long. - If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
- Then I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not hide my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - But surely, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life. - “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.” - My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.
- Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my help and my God. - But you, O Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. - For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. - You are indeed my rock and my fortress;
for your name's sake lead me and guide me. - When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul. - I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth. - Your decrees are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart. - Hear, my child, and accept my words,
that the years of your life may be many. - I cried aloud to him,
and he was extolled with my tongue. - If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. SelahA fool despises a parent's instruction,
but the one who heeds admonition is prudent. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.Next verse!With image
