For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith. This has not come from you but from the gift of God. He did not spare his own Son but gave him up for all of us. How then can he fail also to give us everything else along with him? | He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? |
Those who place their hope in the Lord will regain their strength. They will soar as with eagles’ wings, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not become faint. | But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. |
Do not wear yourself out in the pursuit of wealth, and cease even to think about it. | Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. |
Dear children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth. | My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. |
Be doers of the word and not just hearers who only deceive themselves. | But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. |
O Lord, all my longing is known to you, and my sighs are not hidden from you. | Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee. |
Do not be lacking in zeal, but serve the Lord with spiritual fervor. | Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. |
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. | For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. |
Do not let anyone lead you astray. “Bad company corrupts good morals.” | Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. |
So we must not fall asleep as the others do, but we must stay alert and sober. | Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. |
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them can fall to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even the hairs on your head have all been counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth far more than any number of sparrows. | Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. |
The Lord does not delay in keeping his promise, as some think in terms of delay, but he is patient with you. It is not his wish that any should perish but rather that all should be brought to repentance. | The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. |
I have given you a command. Be strong and brave, do not be afraid nor dismayed. I, the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go. | Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. |
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not believe in the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him. | He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. |
You can eat any water creature that has fins and scales; those you can eat. Whatever does not have fins or scales, you are not to eat. It is unclean for you. | These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat: And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you. |
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. | And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. |
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. Do not let your hearts be troubled. You place your trust in God. Trust also in me. | Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. |
If you refuse to listen to me and do not sincerely resolve to give glory to my name, says the Lord of hosts, I will send a curse on you, and I will turn your blessings into a curse. Indeed, I have already done so because you have not heeded my warning. | If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. |
He said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised. He is not here. See the place where they laid him.” | And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. |
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and give you help, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. | Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. |
Do not swerve either to the right or to the left; keep your foot far from evil. | Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil. |
