- But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
- The vexation of a fool is known at once,
but the prudent ignores an insult. - For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
- So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

he will tread our iniquities underfoot.
You will cast all our sins
into the depths of the sea. - Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
- Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God. - You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.
- But when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out, for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”
- And a highway shall be there,
and it shall be called the Way of Holiness;
the unclean shall not pass over it.
It shall belong to those who walk on the way;
even if they are fools, they shall not go astray. - For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
- And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.
- The one who conceals hatred has lying lips,
and whoever utters slander is a fool. - Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. - Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper,
but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. - Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
- Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
- By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.
- And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.”
- All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).
