Out (3/4)

  • Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
  • But he knows where I am going.
And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.
    For I have stayed on God’s paths;
I have followed his ways and not turned aside.
  • For I know that as you pray for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me, this will lead to my deliverance.
  • Oh, what joy for those
    whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is put out of sight!
  • Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward.
  • All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.
  • Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’
  • You are my rock and my fortress.
For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger.
  • Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life.
  • Until at last the Spirit is poured out
    on us from heaven.
Then the wilderness will become a fertile field,
and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops.
  • If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back.
  • And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.”
  • Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last.
  • The Lord’s home reaches up to the heavens,
while its foundation is on the earth.
He draws up water from the oceans
and pours it down as rain on the land.
    The Lord is his name!
  • I have swept away your sins like a cloud.
I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist.
    Oh, return to me,
for I have paid the price to set you free.
  • But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
are only a small village among all the people of Judah.
    Yet a ruler of Israel,
whose origins are in the distant past,
will come from you on my behalf.
  • The Lord keeps you from all harm
    and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
    both now and forever.
  • Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.
  • If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.
  • For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.
  • Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!
  • You must not exploit a widow or an orphan. If you exploit them in any way and they cry out to me, then I will certainly hear their cry. My anger will blaze against you, and I will kill you with the sword. Then your wives will be widows and your children fatherless.
  • He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
  • “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”
  • Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

Better to be patient than powerful;
