- Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who wait for His faithfulness. - Now no one lights a lamp and covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand so that those who come in may see the light.
- Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit. - But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Now if your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
- The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous,
And His ears are toward their cry for help. - Wealth obtained from nothing dwindles,
But one who gathers by labor increases it. - A good name is to be more desired than great wealth;
Favor is better than silver and gold. - I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go;
I will advise you with My eye upon you. - For they exchanged the truth of God for falsehood, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged natural relations for that which is contrary to nature, and likewise the men, too, abandoned natural relations with women and burned in their desire toward one another, males with males committing shameful acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper. - Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all offenses. - But when he had thought this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.”
- And God is able to make all grace overflow to you, so that, always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.
- And sitting down, He called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”
- He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
- It does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
- Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.
- You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
- While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him!”
- On the day of prosperity be happy,
But on the day of adversity consider:
God has made the one as well as the other
So that a person will not discover anything that will come after him. - So that, as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- One who conceals an offense seeks love,
But one who repeats a matter separates close friends. - Now Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led around by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He was hungry.
- I did not eat any tasty food, nor did meat or wine enter my mouth, nor did I use any ointment at all until the entire three weeks were completed.
- Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered.
