| Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares about you. | Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. |
| Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right? | And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? |

| While Peter was thus imprisoned, the Church prayed fervently to God for him. | Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. |
| The end of all things is near. Therefore, lead disciplined lives and be watchful in prayer. | But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. |

| No prophecy ever came from human initiative. Rather, when people spoke as messengers of God, they did so under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. | For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. |

| Do not repay evil with evil or abuse with abuse. On the contrary, repay with a blessing. This is what you were called to do, so that you might inherit a blessing. | Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. |
| Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh, you should arm yourselves also with the same intention. For anyone who has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin. | Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin. |
