Bible Verses about 'Peter'

  • Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares about you.
  • Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right?
  • While Peter was thus imprisoned, the Church prayed fervently to God for him.
  • The end of all things is near. Therefore, lead disciplined lives and be watchful in prayer.
  • Above all, maintain the fervor of your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.
  • Like newborn infants, long for pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may advance on the path to salvation.
  • As servants of God, behave as free people, but do not use your freedom as a means to cover up wrongdoing.
  • Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that at the proper time he may exalt you.
  • Finally, all of you should be united in spirit, sympathetic, filled with love for one another, compassionate, and humble.
  • Remain sober and alert, for your enemy the devil is on the prowl like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
  • You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.
  • “But you,” he said to them, “who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
  • Yet even if you should suffer for doing what is right, you are thereby blessed. Have no fear of others, and refuse to be intimidated by them.
  • But do not ignore this one fact, beloved: with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.
  • He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
  • Rather, grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for all eternity. Amen.
  • No prophecy ever came from human initiative. Rather, when people spoke as messengers of God, they did so under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
  • And I say to you: You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of the netherworld will not prevail against it.
  • This, in fact, is what you have been called to do, because Christ himself suffered for you and left an example for you to follow in his footsteps.
  • Therefore, the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials and to hold the wicked for punishment until the Day of Judgment.
  • He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live in righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
  • For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer.
However, the face of the Lord
is set against those who do evil.
  • Therefore, prepare your minds for action. Be calm and fix your hopes completely on the grace that you will be granted at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
  • Do not repay evil with evil or abuse with abuse. On the contrary, repay with a blessing. This is what you were called to do, so that you might inherit a blessing.
  • Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh, you should arm yourselves also with the same intention. For anyone who has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin.

His divine power has bestowed on us everything that is necessary for life and for devotion through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue.
