Bible Verses about 'Real'

When I realized that my foot was slipping, your kindness, O Lord, raised me up.I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.
Do you not realize that you are God’s temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?
Their eyes were opened and they realized that they were naked. They took fig leaves and sewed them together, making themselves a covering. At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
Just as water reflects one’s face, so does one human heart reflect another. As a face is reflected in water, so the heart reflects the real person.
The labors of the wicked man produce little profit, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.Evil people get rich for the moment, but the reward of the godly will last.
When you fix your gaze upon it, it is gone before you realize it. For it suddenly sprouts wings and flies up to the sky like an eagle. In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle.
Then I came to realize that all toil and skill in work derive from one person’s envy of another. This also is vanity and a chase after the wind. Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
Some friends can lead us to ruin, but a true friend is closer than a brother. There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.
When someone sins and does any of the things that the Lord has forbidden, even if he does not realize he did it, he has still committed an offense and must bear his guilt.Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin.
And not only that, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we realize that suffering develops perseverance, and perseverance produces character, and character produces hope.We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.
And if one should fall, his companion will help him up. How pathetic is the man who is alone and falls and has no one to assist him to his feet.If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.
If anyone would boast, let him boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is really approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. As the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.” When people commend themselves, it doesn’t count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them.
This is what love is: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
Whenever you fast, do not assume a gloomy expression like the hypocrites who contort their faces so that others may realize that they are fasting. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I tell you the truth, that is the only reward they will ever get.
Therefore, do not allow anyone to pass judgment on you in regard to what you eat or drink, or about the observance of Festivals, New Moons, or Sabbaths. These are only a shadow of what is to come. The reality is Christ. So don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality.
This is how we know what love is: he laid down his life for us, and we in turn must be prepared to lay down our lives for our brethren. We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
He said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not realize that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, since it enters not into the heart but into the stomach and is discharged into the sewer?” Thus, he pronounced all foods clean.“Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you? Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)
Beloved, we are God’s children now. What we shall be has not yet been revealed. However, we do know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he really is. Everyone who has this hope in him keeps himself pure, just as he is pure.Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.
But as for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and therefore you do not need anyone to teach you. This same anointing teaches you everything and is true and not false, so abide in him just as he taught you.But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.
This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the Antichrist, about whose coming you have been told, and that it is already in the world. This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God. But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here.
Remember this: if you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly, and if you sow generously, you will reap generously as well.Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.
The one who sows in his flesh will reap a harvest of corruption, but the one who sows in the Spirit will reap from the Spirit the reward of eternal life. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.
In my anguish I cried out to the Lord and called to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears. But in my distress I cried out to the Lord; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”
Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A person will reap only what he sows.Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.

For all of us fall short in many ways. Anyone who never makes a mistake in speech has reached perfection and is able to control every part of his body.Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.
