Chinese (traditional)Bible Verses about 'Return'
- Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.
- Let us examine and test our ways
and return to the Lord. - For the Lord, your God, is gracious and compassionate, and he will not turn his face away from you if you return to him.
- I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud
and your sins like a mist.
Return to me,
for I have redeemed you. - Return, rebel Israel, says the Lord.
I will not look upon you in anger.
For I am merciful, says the Lord;
my wrath will not continue forever. - Prepare in advance what you want to say,
and return to the Lord.
Say to him, “Take away all guilt
and give us what is good,
so that we may present as offerings
the bullocks from our stalls.” - Yet even now, says the Lord,
return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning. - So shall my word be
that issues forth from my mouth.
It will not return to me unfulfilled,
but it will accomplish my purpose
and achieve what I sent it forth to do. - Let the wicked abandon their ways
and those who are evil their thoughts.
Let them return to the Lord
so that he may have mercy upon them;
and to our God,
for he is rich in forgiveness. - Jesus then said,
“I will remain with you
only for a short time longer,
and then I shall return
to him who sent me.” - Because in my eyes you are precious,
because you are honored and I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you
and nations in return for your life. - Then Job arose, tore his cloak, and shaved his head. He threw himself prostrate on the ground and said:
“Naked I emerged from my mother’s womb,
and naked I will return.
The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away;
blessed be the name of the Lord.” - Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it.
- Rend your hearts and not your garments,
and turn back to the Lord, your God.
For he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, rich in kindness,
and always prepared to relent from punishing. - Return and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people: Thus says the Lord, the God of David, your father: I have heard, I have seen your tears. I will heal you today, and the day after tomorrow you will go up to the temple of the Lord.
- Do I derive any pleasure from the death of the wicked? asks the Lord God. Would I not rather rejoice to see them turn away from their wickedness and live?
- What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?
- Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the prophets of that time proclaimed. Thus says the Lord of hosts: Forsake your evil ways and your evil deeds. But they refused to listen or to pay attention to me, says the Lord.
- Just as he came forth naked from his mother’s womb,
so shall he depart, naked as he came,
with nothing remaining from his labor
that he can carry away in his hands. - Two are better than one:
they earn a far greater reward for their toil. - Repent and renounce all your transgressions. Otherwise your iniquity will prove to be your downfall.
- I came from the Father
and have come into the world.
Now I am leaving the world
and returning to the Father. - But our citizenship is in heaven, and from there we await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. The measure that you use for others will be used to measure you.
- And let us consider how to spur one another to love and good works. Do not neglect to attend your assemblies, as some do, but rather encourage one another, especially since you can see the Day approaching.
But the one who did not know those wishes, and who acted in such a manner as to deserve a beating, will be beaten less severely. Much will be demanded of a person to whom much has been given, and even more will be asked of a person to whom more has been entrusted.It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior,
one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city.
