Bible Verses about 'Righteous'
- The Lord is righteous in everything he does;

but the name of a wicked person rots away. - This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
- In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!
- The lips of the godly speak helpful words,
but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words. - Give your burdens to the Lord,
and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. - Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice,

Look, your king is coming to you.
He is righteous and victorious,

riding on a donkey’s colt. - He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.

Let those with discernment listen carefully.
The paths of the Lord are true and right,
and righteous people live by walking in them.
But in those paths sinners stumble and fall. - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.

he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. - Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,
“I will take revenge;

says the Lord. - Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.
- Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
- Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. - But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
- He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect.
Everything he does is just and fair.
He is a faithful God who does no wrong;
how just and upright he is! - For the law was not intended for people who do what is right. It is for people who are lawless and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who kill their father or mother or commit other murders. The law is for people who are sexually immoral, or who practice homosexuality, or are slave traders, liars, promise breakers, or who do anything else that contradicts the wholesome teaching that comes from the glorious Good News entrusted to me by our blessed God.
- He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. - Better to have little, with godliness,
than to be rich and dishonest. - Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless,
and see that they get justice. - Tainted wealth has no lasting value,
but right living can save your life. - For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.
