- For this day in the city of David there has been born to you a Savior who is Christ, the Lord.
- But our citizenship is in heaven, and from there we await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- I am the Lord, your God,
who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
You know no God but me,
nor any savior other than me. - Rather, grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for all eternity. Amen. - Wives, be subject to your husbands as you are to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, just as Christ is the head of the Church, the body of which he is the Savior.
- But as for me, I will look to the Lord.
I place my hope in God my savior;
my God will hear me. - Guide me in your truth and instruct me,
for you are God, my Savior,
and in you I hope all the day long. - Why are you so disheartened, O my soul?
Why do you sigh within me?
Place your hope in God;
for I will once again praise him,
my Savior and my God. - Help us, O God, our Savior,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us and wipe away our sins
for your name’s sake. - Therefore, brethren, be diligent in providing a firm foundation for your call and election. If you do this, you will never stumble, and you will receive a glorious welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
- Exhort slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give them satisfaction in every respect. They are not to talk back to them, nor are they to steal from them. Rather, they should show themselves to be completely trustworthy so that in every way they may add luster to the doctrine of God our Savior.
- Blessed be the Lord, day after day,
the God of our salvation, who carries our burden. Selah - The Lord, your God, is in your midst,
a warrior and a savior.
He will rejoice over you with gladness
and renew you through his love.
He will exult over you with shouts of joy. - This is what love is:
not that we have loved God,
but that he loved us
and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. - But I know that my Redeemer lives,
and that at the end he will stand upon the dust. - He is himself the sacrifice for our sins—
and not only for our sins
but also for the sins of the whole world. - Though he was in the form of God,
he did not regard equality with God
as something to be grasped.
Rather, he emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
being born in human likeness.
Being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself,
and became obedient to death,
even death on a cross. - And now it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. The life I live now in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.
- For all have sinned and thereby are deprived of the glory of God, and all are justified by the gift of his grace that is given freely through the redemption in Christ Jesus.
- Therefore, he has the full power to save those who approach God through him, since he lives forever to intercede for them.
- In Christ
and through his blood
we have redemption
and the forgiveness of our sins.
In accord with the riches of his grace. - For you are aware that you were ransomed from your futile way of life inherited from your ancestors not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
- With our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, ignoring its shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
- And when he had been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.
- For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more certain it is that, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
I love you, O Lord, my strength,
O Lord, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer.
My God is my rock in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold.Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts:
he is the King of glory. Selah
