- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,

and a word in season, how good it is! - The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous man runs into it and is safe. - But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
- Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
- And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
- The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
- He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken. - Our God is in the heavens;
he does all that he pleases. - So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
- It is a snare to say rashly, “It is holy,”
and to reflect only after making vows.
