She is more precious than rubies. - It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise.

This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. - Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child?
Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?
But even if that were possible,
I would not forget you!
See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.
Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem’s walls in ruins. - All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).
- Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. - So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
- All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet:

which means ‘God is with us.’” - One Sabbath day as Jesus was teaching in a synagogue, he saw a woman who had been crippled by an evil spirit. She had been bent double for eighteen years and was unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Dear woman, you are healed of your sickness!” Then he touched her, and instantly she could stand straight. How she praised God! But the leader in charge of the synagogue was indignant that Jesus had healed her on the Sabbath day. “There are six days of the week for working,” he said to the crowd. “Come on those days to be healed, not on the Sabbath.” But the Lord replied, “You hypocrites! Each of you works on the Sabbath day! Don’t you untie your ox or your donkey from its stall on the Sabbath and lead it out for water? This dear woman, a daughter of Abraham, has been held in bondage by Satan for eighteen years. Isn’t it right that she be released, even on the Sabbath?” This shamed his enemies, but all the people rejoiced at the wonderful things he did.
- If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector.
- For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
- Oh, what joy for those

whose sin is put out of sight! - No one is holy like the Lord!
There is no one besides you;
there is no Rock like our God. - For who is God except the Lord?
Who but our God is a solid rock? - For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.
- For who is God except the Lord?
Who but our God is a solid rock? - For the Lord is our judge,
our lawgiver, and our king.
He will care for us and save us. - Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.
- But God is my helper.
The Lord keeps me alive! - This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
