- Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.
- Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you. - If you love me, obey my commandments.
- The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me? - For you are my hiding place;
you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with songs of victory. - I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
- If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.
- In my distress I prayed to the Lord,
and the Lord answered me and set me free. - You have given me your shield of victory.
Your right hand supports me;
your help has made me great.
You have made a wide path for my feet
to keep them from slipping. - O Lord, I have come to you for protection;
don’t let me be disgraced.
Save me, for you do what is right. - As for me, I look to the Lord for help.
I wait confidently for God to save me,
and my God will certainly hear me. - And he went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.’
- Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God.
May your gracious Spirit lead me forward
on a firm footing. - O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed;
if you save me, I will be truly saved.
My praises are for you alone! - The Lord’s home reaches up to the heavens,

The Lord is his name! - My future is in your hands.
Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly. - Keep me safe, O God,
for I have come to you for refuge. - You are my rock and my fortress.
For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger. - In those days when you pray, I will listen.
- The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams. - One Sabbath day as Jesus was teaching in a synagogue, he saw a woman who had been crippled by an evil spirit. She had been bent double for eighteen years and was unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Dear woman, you are healed of your sickness!” Then he touched her, and instantly she could stand straight. How she praised God! But the leader in charge of the synagogue was indignant that Jesus had healed her on the Sabbath day. “There are six days of the week for working,” he said to the crowd. “Come on those days to be healed, not on the Sabbath.” But the Lord replied, “You hypocrites! Each of you works on the Sabbath day! Don’t you untie your ox or your donkey from its stall on the Sabbath and lead it out for water? This dear woman, a daughter of Abraham, has been held in bondage by Satan for eighteen years. Isn’t it right that she be released, even on the Sabbath?” This shamed his enemies, but all the people rejoiced at the wonderful things he did.
- Have mercy on me, O God,
because of your unfailing love.
Because of your great compassion,
blot out the stain of my sins.
Wash me clean from my guilt.
Purify me from my sin. - Then he said to them, “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me also welcomes my Father who sent me. Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.”
- For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.
- My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
