- Have no fear of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
- In God alone be at rest, O my soul;
it is from him that my hope comes. - In God alone is my soul at rest;
it is from him that my salvation comes. - Pleasing words are like a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and affording health to the body. - Bless the Lord, O my soul;
my entire being, bless his holy name. - As a deer longs for running streams,
so my soul longs for you, O God. - When my anxious thoughts multiplied,
your comfort filled my soul with joy. - My soul thirsts for God, the living God.
When shall I come to behold the face of God? - He has satisfied the thirsty
and filled the hungry with good things. - I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah - Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
- The law of the Lord is perfect,
affording refreshment to the soul.
The decree of the Lord is worthy of trust,
imparting wisdom to the simple. - What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?
- When I sing to you, my lips will rejoice,
and so will my soul, which you have redeemed. - You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.
- But if you seek the Lord, your God, and you strive with all your heart and your soul, you will find him there.
- Beloved, I pray that everything is going well with you and that your bodily health is equal to that of your soul.
- Whoever gains wisdom loves his own soul;
one who cherishes understanding will prosper. - I wait for the Lord in anxious expectation;
I place my hope in his word. - In much the same manner
will wisdom be sweet to your soul.
If you find it, you will have a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. - For I will provide the weary with all they need, and I will restore the strength of all those who have grown faint with hunger.
- What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life?
- Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
- The Lord is my portion, I say to myself;
therefore, I will place my hope in him. - He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
O God, you are my God,
for whom I have been searching earnestly.
My soul yearns for you
and my body thirsts for you,
like the earth when it is parched,
arid and without water.The way of God is blameless,
and the Lord’s promise proves true;
he is a shield to all
who flee to him for safety.
