- Give justice to the weak and the fatherless;
maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. - The precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes. - Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
- The Lord watches over the sojourners;
he upholds the widow and the fatherless,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. - In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
- The memory of the righteous is a blessing,
but the name of the wicked will rot. - And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
- The hope of the righteous brings joy,
but the expectation of the wicked will perish. - And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and by the breath of his mouth all their host. - Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
- No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.
- The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
the heart of the wicked is of little worth. - I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living! - Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. - The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
- “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
- The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
- Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.
- Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. - The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
- Better is the little that the righteous has
than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous. - The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein.
