- God abides in anyone who acknowledges
that Jesus is the Son of God,
and that person abides in God. - I treasure your word in my heart
for fear that I may sin against you. - The Spirit himself bears witness with our Spirit that we are children of God.
- You did not choose me.
Rather, I chose you.
And I appointed you
to go out and bear fruit,
fruit that will remain,
so that the Father may give you
whatever you ask him in my name. - Teach us to comprehend how few our days are
so that our hearts may be filled with wisdom. - Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. - And you will say on that day:
Give thanks to the Lord,
invoke his name;
make known his deeds among the nations;
proclaim that his name is exalted. - This is how we can be certain
that we abide in him
and that he abides in us:
he has given us a share in his Spirit. - I ask that from the riches of his glory he may grant through his Spirit that you be strengthened with power in your inner being and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
- As for you, my child, take strength from the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
- I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you already have so that no one may rob you of your crown.
- If you confess with your lips, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- For I handed on to you as of primary importance what I received: that Christ died for our sins, in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried and that he was raised to life on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
- Whatever you ask in my name I will do,
so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. - Nevertheless, do not rejoice in the knowledge that the spirits are subject to you. Rejoice rather that your names are inscribed in heaven.
- Fix your thoughts on things that are above, not on things that are on the earth.
- This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God:
every spirit that acknowledges
that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh
is from God,
and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus
is not from God.
This is the spirit of the Antichrist,
about whose coming you have been told,
and that it is already in the world. - This is how everyone will know
that you are my disciples:
if you love one another. - Oh, that they would have fear of me in their hearts and they would observe all of my commandments always. Then things would go well with them and their children forever.
- See what love
the Father has bestowed on us,
enabling us to be called the children of God,
and that is what we are.
If the world does not recognize us,
that is because it did not know him. - Nothing gives me greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
- Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?”
- For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so too do we believe that God will bring forth with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
- Honor your father and your mother so that your days may be lengthened in the land that the Lord your God, will give you.
- God chose those in the world who were lowly and despised, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who were regarded as worthy, so that no one could boast in the presence of God.
