| Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. | Judge not, that you be not judged. |
| See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant. | And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. |
| Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. | Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. |
| And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much! | And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. |
| Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? | Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? |
| See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. | See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. |
| Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world. | Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! |
| I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. | That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love. |
| Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. | For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. |
| I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. | Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. |
| Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. | So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. |

| Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment. | As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby. |
| And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day there will be one Lord—his name alone will be worshiped. | And the Lord shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be— “The Lord is one,” And His name one. |
