| You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. | You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. |
| Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. | That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. |

| Do what is good and run from evil so that you may live! Then the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies will be your helper, just as you have claimed. | Seek good and not evil, That you may live; So the Lord God of hosts will be with you, As you have spoken. |
| But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you. | And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. | And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. |
| Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak! | Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. |
| For I know that as you pray for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me, this will lead to my deliverance. | For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. |
