- O Lord, let your kindness rest upon us,
for we have placed our hope in you. - The love of money is the root of all evils, and in their desire for it some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many serious wounds.
- If your brother should sin, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. Even if he wrongs you seven times a day, and comes back to you seven times to say, ‘I am sorry,’ you must forgive him.
- The Lord has told you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
Only this: to do what is right, to show mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God. - May he give you your heart’s desire
and grant you success in all your plans. - Because in my eyes you are precious,
because you are honored and I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you
and nations in return for your life. - Do not succumb to the love of money, but be content with what you have, for God has said, “I will never forsake you or abandon you.”
- Your kindness is a greater joy than life itself;
thus my lips will speak your praise.
I will bless you all my life;
with uplifted hands I will call on your name. - Brethren, we must always give thanks to God for you, and it is only right that we do so. For your faith grows ever more, and the love that all of you have for one another continues to increase.
- How great is your goodness, O Lord,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and which you bestow on those who take refuge in you,
in the presence of all the people. - I treasure your word in my heart
for fear that I may sin against you. - At dawn let me experience your kindness,
for in you I place my trust.
Show me the path I must walk,
for to you I lift up my soul. - I have given you a command. Be strong and brave, do not be afraid nor dismayed. I, the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go.
- Remember that you were once a slave in the land of Egypt. The Lord, your God, brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore, the Lord, your God, has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.
- Arise and shine forth, for your light has come
and the glory of the Lord has dawned upon you. - I will extol you, my God and King;
I will bless your name forever and ever. - Thereupon the Lord restored the prosperity of Job after he had prayed for his friends, and he enriched him with twice as much as he had possessed before.
- I will, thereby, display my greatness and my holiness and make myself known to many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
- Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of justice,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - O Lord, grant us salvation.
O Lord, grant us success.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
We bless you from the house of the Lord. - As a deer longs for running streams,
so my soul longs for you, O God. - He will not permit your foot to stumble;
he who guards you will not fall asleep. - But who am I, and what are your people,
that we should be able to do this?
All things belong to you,
and everything that we have given you is from your hand. - Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze on what lies before you. - Take delight in the Lord,
and he will grant you what your heart desires.
