Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
Who will render to every man according to his deeds. He will render to each one according to his works.
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.Whoever keeps the commandment keeps his life; he who despises his ways will die.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!
A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame. The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent ignores an insult.
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.
And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families.
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?
I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man.
Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.Everyone also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.
The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. The words of a wise man's mouth win him favor, but the lips of a fool consume him.
And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common.

Bible verse of the day

Random Bible Verse

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord,
and whose hope the Lord is.
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters,
and that spreadeth out her roots by the river,
and shall not see when heat cometh,
but her leaf shall be green;
and shall not be careful in the year of drought,
neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
