- He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, without the possibility that mankind will find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.
- Now the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and stay there, and I will give you the stone tablets with the Law and the commandments which I have written for their instruction.”
- One who guards his mouth protects his life;
One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. - With his mouth the godless person destroys his neighbor,
But through knowledge the righteous will be rescued. - The Lord redeems the souls of His servants,
And none of those who take refuge in Him will suffer for their guilt. - For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that those who live would no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose on their behalf.
- You shall not oppress any widow or orphan. If you oppress him at all, and if he does cry out to Me, I will assuredly hear his cry; and My anger will be kindled, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless.
- Let the wicked abandon his way,
And the unrighteous person his thoughts;
And let him return to the Lord,
And He will have compassion on him,
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon. - The integrity of the upright will guide them,
But the perversity of the treacherous will destroy them. - Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. - The heart is more deceitful than all else
And is desperately sick;
Who can understand it?
I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
To give to each person according to his ways,
According to the results of his deeds. - Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves waist coverings.
- The face of the Lord is against evildoers,
To eliminate the memory of them from the earth. - The heavens tell of the glory of God;
And their expanse declares the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge. - For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
- A rich person’s wealth is his strong city,
And like a high wall in his own imagination. - The one who has found his life will lose it, and the one who has lost his life on My account will find it.
- If anyone thinks himself to be religious, yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless.
- For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, this is the one who will save it.
- Every person’s way is right in his own eyes,
But the Lord examines the hearts. - For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
- One who walks with integrity, practices righteousness,
And speaks truth in his heart.
He does not slander with his tongue,
Nor do evil to his neighbor,
Nor bring shame on his friend. - As he came naked from his mother’s womb, so he will return as he came. He will take nothing from the fruit of his labor that he can carry in his hand.
- Behold, as for the impudent one,
His soul is not right within him;
But the righteous one will live by his faith. - The mind of a person plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.
