- Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, if another member of the church sins against me, how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times.”
- The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble. - I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth. - A friend loves at all times,
and kinsfolk are born to share adversity. - If another disciple sins, you must rebuke the offender, and if there is repentance, you must forgive. And if the same person sins against you seven times a day, and turns back to you seven times and says, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive.
- My times are in your hand;
deliver me from the hand of my enemies and persecutors. - While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
- Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with all of you.
- Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.
- Repent therefore, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out.
- God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble. - In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; God has made the one as well as the other, so that mortals may not find out anything that will come after them.
- But you, O Bethlehem of Ephrathah,
who are one of the little clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to rule in Israel,
whose origin is from of old,
from ancient days. - But I will sing of your might;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been a fortress for me
and a refuge in the day of my distress. - And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.
- Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer.
- Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields, for my sake and for the sake of the good news, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this age—houses, brothers and sisters, mothers and children, and fields with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.”
- The Lord is good,
a stronghold in a day of trouble;
he protects those who take refuge in him. - For they said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, indulging their own ungodly lusts.” It is these worldly people, devoid of the Spirit, who are causing divisions.
- Remember your creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come, and the years draw near when you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”.
- Who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.
- But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy.
- Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love,
for they have been from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for your goodness' sake, O Lord!
The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors; may he not leave us or abandon us.
