- For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
- Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor. - Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. - John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.”
- For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.
- He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets.
- But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.
- No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
- “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

but a trustworthy person keeps a secret. - The Lord detests lying lips,
but he delights in people who are trustworthy. - Here is a trustworthy saying:

we will also live with him. - The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple. - For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
