Upon (4/4)

  • Let the wicked forsake his way,
    and the unrighteous man his thoughts:
    and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him;
    and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
  • For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
  • And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
  • Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
  • Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.
  • Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
  • He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
  • Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
  • And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
  • But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
  • One thing have I desired of the Lord,
    that will I seek after;
    that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
    to behold the beauty of the Lord,
    and to enquire in his temple.
  • If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath,
    from doing thy pleasure on my holy day;
    and call the sabbath a delight,
    the holy of the Lord, honourable;
    and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways,
    nor finding thine own pleasure,
    nor speaking thine own words:
    Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord;
    and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth,
    and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father:
    for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
  • Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
  • Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
  • Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
  • But they that wait upon the Lord
    shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
    they shall run, and not be weary;
    and they shall walk, and not faint.
  • And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
  • Let not mercy and truth forsake thee:
    bind them about thy neck;
    write them upon the table of thine heart:
    So shalt thou find favour and good understanding
    in the sight of God and man.
  • And therefore will the Lord wait,
    that he may be gracious unto you,
    and therefore will he be exalted,
    that he may have mercy upon you:
    for the Lord is a God of judgment:
    blessed are all they that wait for him.
  • As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
  • When thou passest through the waters,
    I will be with thee;
    and through the rivers,
    they shall not overflow thee:
    when thou walkest through the fire,
    thou shalt not be burned;
    neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
  • But the mercy of the Lord is
    from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him,
    and his righteousness unto children's children;
    To such as keep his covenant,
    and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
  • But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
  • He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
  • And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

Bible verse of the day

He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
