- For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh.
- Though an army should encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear.
Though war should rise against me,
even then I will be confident. - You lust, and don’t have. You murder and covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask.
- When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out in the army, neither shall he be assigned any business. He shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife whom he has taken.
- Consider the ravens: they don’t sow, they don’t reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!
- Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.
- One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city. - Yahweh, your God, is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing.
- Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.
- “If you will not listen, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to my name,” says Yahweh of Armies, “then I will send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart.”
- Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward person is decaying, yet our inward person is renewed day by day.
- Turn my heart toward your statutes,
not toward selfish gain. - Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.
- May the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all men, even as we also do toward you.
- Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness,
for you reward every man according to his work. - Wicked people earn deceitful wages,
but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. - For I say through the grace that was given me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.
- Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work.
- Watch yourselves, that we don’t lose the things which we have accomplished, but that we receive a full reward.
- All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
- Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.
- Do all things without complaining and arguing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without defect in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world, holding up the word of life.
- Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there might be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God.
- So you shall know wisdom to be to your soul.
If you have found it, then there will be a reward:
Your hope will not be cut off. - Yahweh will keep you from all evil.
He will keep your soul.
Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in,
from this time forward, and forever more.
The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance.Deliver my soul, Yahweh, from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. Yahweh is with you while you are with him; and if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.Next verse! With image
