- For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh.
- Though an host should encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear:
though war should rise against me,
in this will I be confident. - Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
- When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
- He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. - Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
- The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty;
he will save,
he will rejoice over thee with joy;
he will rest in his love,
he will joy over thee with singing. - And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you.
- The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
- Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
- Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
- A fool uttereth all his mind:
but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. - If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
- For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable:
but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. - A froward man soweth strife:
and a whisperer separateth chief friends. - Put away from thee a froward mouth,
and perverse lips put far from thee. - Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men. - Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
- I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
- Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
- The fear of the Lord is to hate evil:
pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way,
and the froward mouth, do I hate. - For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
- The wicked worketh a deceitful work:
but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. - Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.Deliver my soul, O Lord,
from lying lips,
and from a deceitful tongue. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?Next verse!With image
