But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.
But test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown.
You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. But say the things which fit sound doctrine.
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs. Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
As goods increase, so do those who consume them. And what benefit are they to the owners except to feast their eyes on them? When goods increase, those who eat them are increased; and what advantage is there to its owner, except to feast on them with his eyes?
What a person desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar. That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness. A poor man is better than a liar.
But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does, so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.You call me, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am.
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?
I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.I thank you and praise you, O God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we desired of you; for you have made known to us the king’s matter.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. Therefore, as for you, let that remain in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father.
But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom and continues, not being a hearer who forgets but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.
God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”Who “will pay back to everyone according to their works.”

But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.Only fear Yahweh, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you.
Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.

Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker, those who are nothing but potsherds among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you making?’ Does your work say, ‘The potter has no hands’?Woe to him who strives with his Maker— a clay pot among the clay pots of the earth! Shall the clay ask him who fashions it, ‘What are you making?’ or your work, ‘He has no hands’?
This is what the Lord says to Israel: “Seek me and live.”For Yahweh says to the house of Israel: “Seek me, and you will live.”

But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this?
