- He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
- Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.

- But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.
- So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
- But now, O Lord, you are our Father;
we are the clay, and you are our potter;
we are all the work of your hand. - Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.”
- When words are many, transgression is not lacking,
but whoever restrains his lips is prudent. - If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
- Without counsel plans fail,
but with many advisers they succeed. - He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken. - For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. - For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.
- And in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’
