Bible Verses about 'Wherewith'

  • It was for freedom that Christ set us free. Therefore, stand firm and refuse to submit again to the yoke of slavery.
  • I have made your name known to them,
and I will make it known,
so that the love with which you loved me
may be in them, and I in them.
  • But God is rich in his mercy, and because he had such great love for us, he brought us to life with Christ when we were already dead through sin—it is by grace that you have been saved.
  • You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, what can be done to make it salty once again? It is no longer good for anything, and thus it is cast out and trampled underfoot.
  • Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercy and the God of all consolation. He consoles us in all our afflictions and thereby enables us to console others in their tribulations, offering them the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.
  • Stand firm, then, with the belt of truth fastened around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness clothing you, and with your feet shod in zeal to proclaim the gospel of peace. In all circumstances, hold in your hand the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
  • For where your treasure is, there will your heart also be.
  • How can a young man lead a spotless life?
By living according to your word.
  • Do not store up treasures for yourselves on earth, where they will be destroyed by moth and rust and where thieves break in and steal. Rather, store up treasure for yourselves in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves cannot break in and steal.
  • What then if you were to behold the Son of Man
ascend to where he was before?
  • Where can I go to hide from your spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
    If I ascend to the heavens, you are there;
if I take my rest in the netherworld, you are also there.
  • For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in their midst.
  • Now this Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
  • Where many words are spoken, sin is not absent,
but whoever restrains his tongue is prudent.
  • For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there will also be disharmony and every type of wickedness.
  • I lift up my eyes to the mountains;
from where will I receive help?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
  • And where a single man can be overcome,
two together will be able to resist.
A cord with three strands is not easily broken.
  • If anyone wishes to serve me,
    he must follow me.
    Where I am,
there also will my servant be.
    If anyone serves me,
my Father will honor that person.
  • He said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised. He is not here. See the place where they laid him.”
  • When they had finished their prayer, the place where they were gathered together shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and proclaimed the word of God fearlessly.
  • Father, allow those you have given me
to be with me where I am,
so that they may behold my glory,
which you have bestowed on me
    because you loved me
before the foundation of the world.
  • Indeed, the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any two-edged sword, it pierces to the point where it divides soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and the intentions of the heart.
  • But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid! I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised, as he promised he would be. Come and see the place where he lay.”
  • The wicked man borrows but neglects to repay,
whereas the righteous man is generous in giving.
  • All day long the godless man continues to covet,
whereas the righteous man gives unsparingly.

Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days, where he was tempted by the devil. During that time he ate nothing, and at the end of it he was famished.
