| If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? | But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? |
| Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble. | Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. |
| Keep the commandments and keep your life; despising them leads to death. | Whoever keeps the commandment keeps his life; he who despises his ways will die. |
