- A man’s pride will bring him low,
but lowly souls will rise to honor. - Therefore, I say to you: ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
- I will extol you, my God and King;
I will bless your name forever and ever. - Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
- I will rejoice and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. - Authority will be granted to the diligent,
but the lazy will be enslaved. - A wise man will heed commandments,
but a babbling fool will come to grief. - I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise will be continually on my lips. - When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
nor will the waters engulf you.
When you walk through fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not consume you. - But whoever drinks the water that I will give him
will never be thirsty.
The water that I will give him
will become a spring of water within him
welling up to eternal life. - He will not permit your foot to stumble;
he who guards you will not fall asleep. - Those who place their hope in the Lord
will regain their strength.
They will soar as with eagles’ wings,
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not become faint. - Even when you reach old age
I will still be the same.
Even when your hair is gray,
I will still carry you.
I have made you and I will uphold you;
I will carry you and save you. - A highway will be there
that will be called the Way of Holiness.
No one who is unclean may pass over it;
it will serve as a path for pilgrims
and no fool will be able to use it. - The Lord will become king over the whole earth. When that day comes, he will be the only Lord, and his name will be the only name.
- Whoever observes the commandments will live,
but the one who scorns them will die. - When I sing to you, my lips will rejoice,
and so will my soul, which you have redeemed. - A generous person will be enriched;
he who refreshes others will also be refreshed. - Jesus answered him,
“Whoever loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we will come to him
and make our abode with him.” - For nothing will be impossible for God.
- In much the same manner
will wisdom be sweet to your soul.
If you find it, you will have a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. - And I will ask the Father,
and he will give you another Advocate
to be with you forever. - Then it will come to pass
that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. - The father of a good man will rejoice;
he who begets a wise son will delight in him. - The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the child to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.”
