- The Lord, your God, is in your midst,
a warrior who gives victory;
he will rejoice over you with gladness,
he will renew you in his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing. - Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me.
- In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
- When pride comes, then comes disgrace;
but wisdom is with the humble. - Happy are those who keep his decrees,
who seek him with their whole heart. - Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving.
- Also that the women should dress themselves modestly and decently in suitable clothing, not with their hair braided, or with gold, pearls, or expensive clothes, but with good works, as is proper for women who profess reverence for God.
- For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
he adorns the humble with victory. - Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; do not claim to be wiser than you are.
