- Therefore, brethren, I implore you by the mercies of God to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice that is holy and acceptable to God—a spiritual act of worship.
- Therefore, now I, Nebuchadnezzar,
praise and exalt and glorify
the King of heaven.
For all of his works are right,
and all of his ways are just.
Also, he is able to humble
all those who follow the path of pride. - The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart places its trust in him.
He has helped me, and I exult;
then with my song I praise him. - To him who in all things is able
through the power
that is at work within us
to accomplish abundantly far more
than all we can ask or imagine,
to him be glory in the Church
and in Christ Jesus
through all generations,
forever and ever. Amen. - Great is the Lord and worthy of the highest praise;
no one can even begin to comprehend his greatness. - Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
“To the one seated on the throne
and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might
forever and ever.” - Out of the same mouth flow blessings and curses. This should not be so, my brethren.
- I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise will be continually on my lips. - I love the Lord because he has heard my voice
and listened to my cry for mercy,
because he has inclined his ear to me
on the day when I called out to him. - As for me, I trust in your kindness;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord
because he has been good to me. - The heavens proclaim the glory of God;
the firmament shows forth the work of his hands.
One day imparts that message to the next,
and night conveys that knowledge to night. - Let the word of Christ with all its richness dwell in you. Teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God with gratitude in your hearts.
- Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? You have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body.
- Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts:
he is the King of glory. Selah - I will offer praise to you, O Lord,
with my whole heart;
I will recount all your wondrous deeds. - Not to us, O Lord, not to us,
but to your name give glory
because of your kindness and faithfulness. - I will give thanks to you among the peoples, O Lord;
I will sing your praises among the nations. - Blessed be the Lord, day after day,
the God of our salvation, who carries our burden. Selah - After Jesus had been born in Bethlehem of Judea during the reign of King Herod, wise men traveled from the east and arrived in Jerusalem, inquiring, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw the rising of his star, and we have come to pay him homage.”
- When I sing to you, my lips will rejoice,
and so will my soul, which you have redeemed. - I will extol you, my God and King;
I will bless your name forever and ever. - Because of this, God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
that is above all other names,
so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend
of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth. - Teach me your ways, O Lord,
so that I may walk in your truth;
let me worship your name
with an undivided heart. - During the day the Lord grants his kindness,
and at night his praise is with me,
a prayer to the living God. - Whom do I have in heaven except you?
And besides you there is nothing else I desire on earth.
