| Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. | Give heed to my reproof; I will pour out my thoughts to you; I will make my words known to you. |
| He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? | He who did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else? |

| For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. | For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life. |
| And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house. | I did not shrink from doing anything helpful, proclaiming the message to you and teaching you publicly and from house to house. |

| For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? | For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not first sit down and estimate the cost, to see whether he has enough to complete it? |

| For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. | For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin. |
| Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. | By faith he received power of procreation, even though he was too old—and Sarah herself was barren—because he considered him faithful who had promised. |
| I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. | I delight in the way of your decrees as much as in all riches. |

| For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. | For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all, training us to renounce impiety and worldly passions, and in the present age to live lives that are self-controlled, upright, and godly. |

| And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. | He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all.” |
| Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. | If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. |
