Love is never rude; it does not seek its own advantage. It is not prone to anger; neither does it brood over setbacks. | Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil. |
| But the one who did not know those wishes, and who acted in such a manner as to deserve a beating, will be beaten less severely.
